APRIL GARZA -

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR

april.garza@westoak.org

As an early childhood educator and director of a Christian preschool, I believe it is of the utmost importance to share with the children and families of our community the love of God and Jesus. We must show kindness and respect for each individual as we are all children of God. It is crucial to teach children how to learn and to love learning. The emphasis is on learning, not on being correct. Boundaries, guidelines and consistency are important in the educational environment.

MOLLY CLARK -

PRE-K Bridge TEACHER & Stem Director

I have been lucky enough to teach at Westoak Woods for the last four years. Each year believe that I have the best class ever. Every class brings in a new energy and joyful spirits that make the learning process exciting. My favorite teaching moments are the ones where my students have overcome obstacles and found confidence in themselves and proclaim "I did it!" I have a passion for science and math. From making applesauce to creating catapults you can bet we are taking every opportunity to explore the world around us.

I am so excited to be back in the 3's class at Westoak Woods this year! I have seven years teaching experience at a private school for children with learning and language delays, and six years at Westoak Woods. I have a degree in Communication Disorders from The University of Texas and my teaching emphasis is on Language Development. I serve on a board for a non-profit, Sacred Share, and I work part time at my church as an administrator. My main hobby is writing fiction books.

Chriselda Barba-Majalca -

Assistant Twos Teacher

I really enjoy being in a church environment. After having worked in AISD for over 10 years, it is wonderful to return to a Christian preschool. I love working with children and have always felt as if it has been my calling in life and have always returned to teaching and caring for children of all ages. In my free time I appreciate chilling with my family.

LILIANA ALDRETE -

Twos LEAD TEACHER

Being a teacher in the twos class has been unbelievable! Watching kiddos grow and feeling the love and appreciation from the children and all the wonderful parents here at WWBP has been one of the best experiences of my life. I love listening to children and have great patience when helping them to mater simple and complex skills. It’s AMAZING to watch and know I played an important part in their lives and achievements

ANGELA JELLISON -

Ones ASSISTANT TEACHER

I’m a local, graduated from St. Edward’s University with a BA in Sociology and absolutely love Austin. I have been teaching preschool for 26 years and love spending time with the little ones, nurturing and playing with them. Their smiles keep the days fresh and joyful.

MELISA HERMAN -

OneS LEAD TEACHER

I am so happy to be here in the Ones Classroom at Westoak Woods! I am a University of Alabama alum, and I’m glad to be back here in Austin. Outside of working with preschool and elementary age children, I volunteer for a pet rescue organization and often have one or more foster dogs living with my family.
